
The Training Division develops, coordinates, delivers, and manages the education and training of all personnel within Edgewood Fire/EMS. We continually provide and deliver the highest and safest level of training to our personnel. Currently the Training Division is comprised of a Training Officer who oversees the Division, 22 Fire Service Instructors, 8 Paramedics and 1 Baccalaureate prepared Registered Nurse. These instructors are empowered to deliver high quality and safe training to all members of the Department.
Our Fire and EMS personnel receive a variety of education, which coincides, with the mission statement of the Department. The Training Division delivers our firefighters the following instruction: Basic Firefighting, Advanced Firefighting, Vehicle Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Company Officer Development, and all required and mandated training according to applicable laws and standards. Our EMS personnel receive EMT-Basic continuing education and Advanced EMS procedures, such as Combi-Tube Airway, SAED, Stroke Study, Albuterol Treatments, Epinephrine Treatments, and C-Spine protocol. All members receive education in Infection Control, CPR, Incident Management, and Driver/Operator training.
Training Division Mission Statement
The mission of the Training Division of the Edgewood Fire/EMS Department shall be to provide the safest, effective and most efficient education to all department personnel. The Training Division shall nurture and embrace the needs of our members. The Training Division shall increase our member's knowledge, respect and self-worth. The Training Division shall strive to motivate each member and create a positive and proactive learning environment. The Training Division will strive to set each member up for success.
